Just a short newsletter today to wish you all a fabulous holiday and enjoy this beautiful weather. Our return date is Tuesday, 4th October, however, we do have Fame and 30 Reasons Not to be in Play rehearsals on Monday, 3rd October. Please ensure your child attends these as this is the final polishing stage and needs 100% attendance.

Xanadu was a great show to finish off the week! Congratulations to our fabulous cast and crew, Kim, Jackie and I were so proud of them all. The show was filled with talent and dedication. The support of the parents was amazing! It was the best bump-out in ages, so many parents helped that the set was pulled down, dressing rooms cleaned, theatre packed away, and tubs of costumes taken home to be washed, all within an hour and a half.

We hope all our wonderful NAPA Dads had a fabulous Father’s Day. Only 2 more weeks left of Term 3 but still so much happening!

It was another proud week for all of us at NAPA. So many great achievements for our students. As Gold Coast Eisteddfod groups draw to a close, we move into Xanadu preparations!

This week’s newsletter is filled once again with so much that’s happening at NAPA that I don’t know how we could ever send monthly or by term newsletters like most studios! Our weeks are packed with so much information that you need it in small chunks so you can keep abreast of it all. I am writing this after a full day rehearsal, whilst my business partner, Kim, is at Eisteddfods. Good job there are two of us or we could not offer so many opportunities. Another fabulous week at the studio begins! This past week saw many of our dance soloists compete at Gold Coast Eisteddfod, final rehearsals for our Pre-senior play and unfortunately … a lot of illness! We are thinking of all our students and families who are suffering through a very germy winter. I’m sure we’re all looking forward to warmer days and sunshine.

This week we are overflowing with pride! So many great achievements packed into one week. This semester is a time where our classes can display their incredible training from Semester 1 as they start performing their shows and enter competitions. I am sure we have lots of parents filled with love and pride of their children right now. Let’s start with this week’s Get the Beat comp in Brisbane.

Welcome back Awesome NAPA Families!

Hope you all had a great holiday and are excited for this semester which is filled with performances, eisteddfods, and events!

In our last week of term, we have much to be proud of with so many wonderful achievements by our students. Just a reminder that classes finish on 25 June and resume on the 11 July. We hope that you all have a fabulous holiday and a big rest, as Semester 2 is our busiest time with all the productions being staged and the competitions entered. Even a theatre company is pushed to have so many productions in one year!

Only two more weeks before the end of term, the last day being Saturday, 25 June 2022. The first semester is always the more relaxed one as Semester 2 is filled with final rehearsals, productions, presentations and the major eisteddfods. So, embrace yourselves (I know we are), for life to get even busier, but rest assured the accomplishments are worth the extra challenges.

This week’s newsletter is back to giving happy news. However, we would firstly like to thank those of you who emailed us to provide support of the content of our newsletter and our studio ethos. Many expressed that they had also witnessed negative conversations and attitudes, that does not align with our expectations and standards. This confirmed to us that the message in our newsletter last week needed to be communicated and perhaps overdue. We hope to see a big change from now on and we will be in direct contact with anyone who we hear is making inappropriate comments. Bullying of any type or at any level will not be tolerated at NAPA and any time we are alerted to it in the past we have addressed it with the students involved. NAPA aims to be a happy, safe place for our students and parents.

We hope you are having a lovely week and enjoying this bout of sunshine! This week’s newsletter is not really one as such, as it doesn’t contain news. Instead, we wish to address the emergence of some negativity that Miss Lynn and I have noticed that is not in line with our studio ethos. At this time of year, when there are lots of auditions and castings happening, it can be a tough time for those who miss out. We’ve had a lot of talks around this in classes over the years and I’ve addressed these challenges again this week in classes going through auditions. So, we thought it would be a good idea to inform parents of the kind of values we encourage at the studio.

Rain Rain, Go Away, Come Again Some Other Day … But not for a while we hope. The rain has certainly made everyday life a bit challenging. Thank you for getting your children to classes under these difficult conditions. We have quite a few leaks spring up at NAPA so you may see a few buckets around. Keeping our kids and floors dry has not been easy but we are doing our best. A bit of a short news week this week.

Welcome back to another great term of learning and development at NAPA! Hope you all had a great holiday. Just a reminder that evening classes are on today. We have lots of exciting things happening in Term 2 so please make sure all the dates of events listed in your newsletter and website are recorded in your personal calendars.

This is the last week of term with our last classes finishing on Saturday, 2 April. Our return date is Tuesday, 19 April. Please note in last week’s newsletter the information regarding all other long weekends. A reminder that this week is an 80’s themed week so students from all classes can attend in their 80’s outfits and enjoy some happy 80’s themed activities. We will post photos on our P&F Facebook page. We hope your children have had a great first term and are all settled into their classes. Term 2 is the start of rehearsals and preparation for this year’s performances, so get ready cherubs!
