NAPA News - Week 5, Term 2, 2022
DEAR NAPA FAMILIES,
Rain Rain, Go Away, Come Again Some Other Day …
But not for a while we hope. The rain has certainly made everyday life a bit challenging. Thank you for getting your children to classes under these difficult conditions. We have quite a few leaks spring up at NAPA so you may see a few buckets around. Keeping our kids and floors dry has not been easy but we are doing our best. A bit of a short news week this week.
CONGRATULATIONS ALL PERFORMERS IN OUR SOLOIST CONCERT!
What an entertaining night! Congratulations to all of our performers on their high standards of performances. This concert gives everyone a chance to exhibit what they are working on in their private lessons and to do this at a non-competitive and sold-out event. A big thank you to our teachers for all the hard work you put into these students to take them to their next level of their performance journey. Enjoy the photos taken by David & Beau Reynolds – thank you guys.
TALENT TRIBE COMPETITION
Congratulations also to our soloists who competed in Talent Tribe Competition this weekend.

NAPA SWEATSHIRTS
For those who missed out on the winter sweatshirts, I did order some extras, so if we have your child’s size you can purchase them from reception. We won’t be taking more orders at this stage.
A CRY OUT FOR ASSISTANCE IN RESPECTING OUR STUDIO
It is so disheartening to witness, on a daily basis, disrespect for our studio. I have brought this up before, but we are not seeing any improvement. We try to create a family atmosphere here at NAPA, providing a lounge, games and games areas, eating area, canteen facilities and a courtyard to relax, but we are constantly having to clean up after our students and sadly even our parents at times. Our time would be better used in creative endeavours. We pay cleaners to come in once a week, but in between, our time is wasted cleaning up after people. Parents, if you are waiting at the studio for your children, please supervise them and ensure they are complying with these requests. Games will be removed if we do not see an improvement. We may even need to employ more professional cleaning sessions, which will drive up our fees next year. We hope this does not have to happen.
Please help us by passing on this message to your child/ren as this is the only way we can speak to all of our students.
Always clean up after yourselves
Put rubbish in the bins and clean up tables when you have eaten there
Pack away games as soon as you have finished playing with them
Keep the toilets clean – do not drop toilet paper or hand towels on the floor. Aim to keep the floor dry near the wash basins
Check lost property regularly
Do not jump on couches
No dancing or acro in the lounge and games room
Do not eat in the games room
Put bags on the shelves provided, they must not be on the floor blocking walkways
If you use the fridge, ensure you take home the container or leftovers at the end of the day
Above all, respect and appreciate our studio, equipment, and the facilities we provide
Thank you for your cooperation
CHICAGO Set is under construction
The set is underway for our first musical of the year, Chicago. Thanks Laurie and your assistant Thomas, for spending your Sunday working on this.
INTERMEDIATE TREAD THE BOARDS PLAY CHANGE
Before auditions have taken place, we have changed the play that we had announced we were going to do. After discussion with our new acting teacher Jane Irvine and the students, the zombie one was not fulfilling expectations, so now we have applied and been granted the rights for So You Wanna be a Cheerleader. Scripts should arrive soon and then auditions will begin.
Wishing you all a happy and drier week ahead,
Lynn & the NAPA Team
