NAPA News - Week 4, Term 3, 2024
August is here! Which means our busiest month has begun. This weekend saw our Pre-Senior Acting class hit the stage with ‘The Con’, and our 12’s Small Group Team performed at The Flow City Convention at Miami Marketta. The next two weeks will be filled with Gold Coast Eisteddfod Group sections and then finally we will see our Senior Tread the Boards class in the Australian Classic ‘Picnic at Hanging Rock’. What a busy time!
The Con
Congratulations to our Pre-Senior Actors for their outstanding performances over the weekend. After having a change of directors mid-year, the kids and Miss Amy pulled together and staged a wonderful production. We were excited to have Miss Jane in the audience on Saturday night, and she was also so proud of everyone.
12s team at flow city convention
A massive thank you to Miss Mandy for organising this opportunity for our 12’s Small Group Team. The team performed their award-winning routine ‘Heaven’ choreographed by Maddison Clay and Greta Brinsley. It was an excellent experience for our students who encountered their first “small stage, no rehearsal” experience. A great lesson for our dancers who will find this happens a lot in our industry when performing gigs at outside events. Miss Kim has danced on many a tiny stage in her career and I’m sure this won’t be the last time our young dancers experience it. Being an adaptable dancer and performer is so important and the kids did us proud with their performance.
Congratulations to Miss Mandy and her group The Tap Society (which included our students Hannah, Jasmine and Caitlynn) who performed in the senior showcase. What an incredible performance. Well done ladies!
Picnic at hanging rock
Tickets for Picnic at Hanging Rock are now on sale! We can’t wait to see our Senior Actors bring this Australian Classic to life. Miss Cilla and her class have been working hard on this one and it’s already looking amazing. Tickets are limited so get in quick!
Gold coast eisteddfod groups
A big “chookas” to our dance teams who will begin competing on Friday with our smallest cherubs up first. We can’t wait to see you all up on stage doing what you do best!
Winter Uniforms
Due to popular demand, we have re-opened orders for our Winter Uniforms and Basic T’s. These can be ordered through your portal. Don’t forget to also secure your NAPA jibbits from reception before they sell out!
Have a great week everyone!
Kim and The NAPA Team
Welcome back to another busy week at NAPA!
Firstly, apologies that there was no newsletter last week. Between moving house and focusing on our production of Bring It On, things were certainly a little hectic!
A huge congratulations to the entire Bring It On cast, crew and creative team on a fantastic season. We are incredibly proud of the hard work, energy and commitment that went into bringing this production to the stage. Thank you also to everyone who supported the show, whether backstage, front of house or in the audience cheering on our wonderful performers.
Our regular timetable is back to normal this week. However, there will be some timetable changes next week, so please ensure you carefully read the updated schedule that was emailed out. Staying on top of studio correspondence helps everything run smoothly during these busy production weeks.
Thank you, as always, for taking the time to read the newsletter and stay connected with everything happening at NAPA!
