NAPA News - Week 8, Term 3, 2024
Wow, I can’t believe it’s already September and Term 3 is nearly complete! Time flies when you’re having fun. Not too much news this week, but some exciting announcements!
PART-TIME DANCE PROGRAM
We are so excited to announce that we are offering a part-time dance program for students aged 12+ in 2025. This will be offered in affiliation with Empowerdance, and students will be able to complete a Cert I, II or III in Dance (age dependant). Students will attend a full day of classes each Wednesday that will include classes required to complete the chosen certificate in dance but will also have bonus classes in acting and group singing, specialising in harmony work. This is the perfect program for our younger students who are working towards attending NAPA College in their senior years and has been a great pathway for many of our current College students.
At NAPA College you can now study:
CUA40520 CERTIFICATE IV IN MUSICAL THEATRE (Grades 10-12)
CUA30120 CERTIFICATE III IN DANCE (Ages 14+)
CUA20120 CERTIFICATE II IN DANCE (Ages 13+)
CUA10120 CERTIFICATE I IN DANCE (Ages 12+)
NAPA COLLEGE APPLICATIONS OPEN - GET IN QUICK!
Round 1 auditions for our full-time NAPA College program (Certificate IV in Musical Theatre) are happening this week, so if you are thinking of applying, get in quick. Once Round 1 is complete we may open up for extra auditions, but limited places are available for 2025.
WIZARD OF OZ
Our Broadway Tweens production is only 10 days away and we can’t wait to see all our young performers shine. Please ensure that you have read Miss Laura’s most recent emails and have all the costume items required for this Saturday. A reminder that it is our extended rehearsal, and some students are required early for costume calls.
VOCALISTS AT GOLD COAST EISTEDDFOD
This past week it was our vocalists’ chance to shine at GCE! The results were fabulous and the feedback from the judge was excellent. We are so proud of each and every one of our performers who were brave enough to get up and give it a go, many of them for the first time at a competition! Well done cherubs.

Kim and The NAPA Team
What a huge few weeks it has been at NAPA! Our competition season has certainly kept us busy, and we are incredibly proud of the way our students have represented the studio. Beyond the results, it has been wonderful to see the growth, teamwork, resilience and support for one another that comes from getting out on stage and putting all that hard work into practice. A massive congratulations to every student who performed, and a big thank you to our teachers and families for everything that goes on behind the scenes to make these weeks possible.
And there is certainly no slowing down just yet! We are now heading into an exciting few weeks of productions, with Bring It On and The Jungle Book Kids both getting ready to hit the stage. There is so much happening across the studio, and we can’t wait to see all of that rehearsal-room work come to life!
A little reminder as we head into production season: there will be some changes to our regular timetable during production weeks to accommodate rehearsals, performances and staff commitments. Please keep a close eye on your emails and studio correspondence, as we will communicate any class changes, cancellations or adjustments as early as possible.
It’s a busy time of year, but also one of our favourites with lots of opportunities to perform, learn, support our NAPA friends and celebrate what our students have been working towards. Thank you, as always, for staying on top of communication and for being part of our wonderful NAPA community.
Now, onto this week’s news!
