NAPA News - Week 3, Term 3, 2022
DEAR NAPA FAMILIES,
This week’s newsletter is filled with congratulatory and good luck messages. Enjoy!
CHICAGO Closes after a sell-out season
Wow! We are blown away with the feedback we have received from our Chicago audiences. So many said it was like watching a professional show! Just what we like to hear and what we aim towards. Congratulations to Hollie, Kim and Steffi for getting the best out of our Extension Broadway Bound class. And a huge congratulations to our cast and crew for such incredible performances. A special mention to our 2022 Graduates; Elysium Hipwood, Cooper Swain, Kaden Forbutt, Milly Mills and Sarah Tucker (pictured) as this is their last musical with us. Elysium has topped the amount done with us as she has performed 10 NAPA musicals over the years! It is our absolute pleasure to watch how far they have come, and we wish them every success for a wonderful future ahead.
Just a reminder to all of the Extension Broadway Bound class, next week is a rest week, which you greatly deserve, so no class. We start back the following week with a great program ahead to further your training.
THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS
A huge thank you to our bar volunteers for Chicago - Janneth Zarate Beltran, Danielle Sutherland, Kimberley Janssen, Bella Janssen and Ruth Nean, you all rock! Your service is greatly appreciated by the NAPA team and our audiences. The cheese platters were a great idea as they were so popular.
Thank you also to Trina Power for the fabulous creation of the Chicago program, so professional.
THE DAY THE INTERNET DIED
As we bump out Chicago, we bump in The Day the Internet Died which will be performed by our Pre-Senior Tread the Boards class on the 7 August at 2pm and 7pm. Tickets are on sale now. We wish Miss Jane and her students all the best in getting the play ready to entertain the audiences.
GET THE BEAT BRISBANE
Chookas to all of our Performance Teams who are competing in Brisbane at the Get the Beat competition this weekend. Just a reminder to please check all correspondence regarding the details and requirements to ensure you give your best. A huge thank you to all of our Performance Team teachers who go above and beyond to get the best out of our students. Have fun everyone!
CANTEEN CLOSED 30th JULY
Please note that our Canteen ladies on Saturday will be at the comp, so there will be no canteen or sausage sizzle on Saturday 30th July. If your child is here for a large part of the day, please send them with some snacks.
CONGRATULATIONS SPENCER!
Congratulations to Spencer Hermes-Rebello who has been with us for a few years but left at the end of last year to work on the TV series Surfside Girls. This premiers globally on Apple TV on Friday, 19 August. We are so proud of you Spencer and look forward to seeing you shine on the screen.
MORE PROFESSIONAL SUCCESS
Currently we have a few students who have had call backs for professional productions. Unfortunately, we can’t reveal who they are and what they are auditioning for, due to contract restrictions, but you guys know who you are and on behalf of your NAPA family we wish you all the best, and whatever the outcome, we are so proud of you and how far you all have gone.
TICKET SALES
Just a reminder that tickets for all productions in Term 3 are on sale from our website. Term 4 shows will be released closer to the end of term.
Have another great week of achievements and smashing goals cherubs!
Best wishes,
Lynn & the NAPA Team
What a huge few weeks it has been at NAPA! Our competition season has certainly kept us busy, and we are incredibly proud of the way our students have represented the studio. Beyond the results, it has been wonderful to see the growth, teamwork, resilience and support for one another that comes from getting out on stage and putting all that hard work into practice. A massive congratulations to every student who performed, and a big thank you to our teachers and families for everything that goes on behind the scenes to make these weeks possible.
And there is certainly no slowing down just yet! We are now heading into an exciting few weeks of productions, with Bring It On and The Jungle Book Kids both getting ready to hit the stage. There is so much happening across the studio, and we can’t wait to see all of that rehearsal-room work come to life!
A little reminder as we head into production season: there will be some changes to our regular timetable during production weeks to accommodate rehearsals, performances and staff commitments. Please keep a close eye on your emails and studio correspondence, as we will communicate any class changes, cancellations or adjustments as early as possible.
It’s a busy time of year, but also one of our favourites with lots of opportunities to perform, learn, support our NAPA friends and celebrate what our students have been working towards. Thank you, as always, for staying on top of communication and for being part of our wonderful NAPA community.
Now, onto this week’s news!
