FROM THE DIRECTOR

Bringing The Little Mermaid Jr. to life has been an absolute joy from start to finish, and it has been many years I have been waiting for the opportunity to direct this show.

Watching such young performers take on a story filled with courage, curiosity, and heart has been nothing short of magical. What has stood out most throughout this journey is the extraordinary talent and dedication shown by these students — not only in their singing, acting, and dancing, but in the way they’ve supported one another every step of the way. For some, this has been their very first musical, while others are seasoned performers who continue to grow stronger with every show — all have stepped up equally to create something truly special together. 

Beyond the stage lights and costumes, this show is a celebration of our NAPA community. From the cast bringing their characters to life, to the crew helping with sets, props, and backstage magic, every student has played an important role in making this production shine. It’s a true reminder that musicals are always a group effort, built on collaboration, patience, and a shared love of theatre.

To our wonderful families and volunteers — thank you for your endless support, and encouragement. And to our young performers — your creativity, teamwork, and joy have been a constant reminder of why I love doing what I do! You’ve truly made a splash!

SYNOPSIS

Journey "under the sea" with Ariel and her aquatic friends in Disney's The Little Mermaid JR., adapted from Disney's Broadway production and the motion picture (featuring the enormously popular Academy Award-winning music and delightfully charming book and lyrics). Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen's most beloved stories, Disney's The Little Mermaid Jr. is an enchanting look at the sacrifices we all make for love and acceptance.

In a magical underwater kingdom, the beautiful young mermaid, Ariel, longs to leave her ocean home — and her fins — behind and live in the world above. But first, she'll have to defy her father, King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, and convince the handsome Prince Eric that she's the girl whose enchanting voice he's been seeking.
