NAPA News - Week 7, Term 4, 2023

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I need to inform you of the loss of our amazing NAPA Nan - Colleen Reynolds. Colleen, Miss Kim’s loving mum, has been an ever-present member of our NAPA family since our inception, 16 years ago. Her support has been incredible, not only for all the beautiful costumes she has made for our shows, raffle prizes and concerts, but for her love and support of all our staff and children. She has touched so many lives here at NAPA and her beautiful soul will always be remembered. Our condolences go out to her husband Keith, her children, Robbie, David and Kim, and her grandchildren, Ethan, Evabella, Harrison and Claramina. Colleen, you will forever remain in our hearts, rest in peace dear friend.

Dear NAPA Families,

As you can imagine this is a difficult newsletter this week with such sadness mixed with celebrations. I do ask that you give Miss Kim some privacy and peace by not contacting her until she is ready to be back at work. If you need to ask anything about classes, please email Kimberley, accounts to Laurie and everything else to me. This is the busiest time of the year, so with my business partner out of action we do ask for your understanding and patience, if we do not respond to emails or requests as quickly as you expect.

Finding Nemo Jr Success

Wow! Our Broadway Kids were sensational! A huge congratulations to our cast and teachers on such a fabulous performance. Thank you to all of our volunteers that have helped supervise the dressing rooms, do FOH jobs, worked on the bar or help sell raffle tickets.  Thank you also to our college students who volunteered to do the mics and help with quick changes. You are all amazing and what a great team effort!

Chookas to the cast of Murder on the 518

Our Senior actors will be staging their play on the 17th & 18th November. It has been a pleasure directing this awesome group of kids.  With this busy time of the year, we have rarely been able to have a rehearsal with the full cast.  Parents, please ensure they attend these final rehearsals this week.

Chookas College Students

As this is our last week for our Year 12 College students, we will be celebrating their talent with a Cabaret performance under the direction of Tim Carroll, on Tuesday 14th November. Tickets can be purchased online. Enjoy!

Award Ceremonies

We have had a few questions regarding the Award Ceremonies. Please note the following guidelines:

  • Some students are in classes that are a mix of primary and secondary school children. For the awards they will be split. Juniors Awards are for all Primary children and Senior Awards are for High School children. Teachers of these combined classes will be checking with the children to ensure we have them in the correct group.

  • It is important they come to the rehearsal as this is where we double check that we have the certificates and awards for the students in each ceremony. Anyone not at the rehearsal, we will assume they are not coming to the ceremony and remove their awards, so we are not calling out names of people not there.

  • There will be an end of year barbecue celebration in between the 2 rehearsals so everyone can attend this together (more details about this later)

  • Trophies will only be given to students in attendance of the awards ceremonies.

  • All students receive an achievement certificate.

As we draw closer to the end of the year, please check our calendar on our website so you are familiar with final dates of classes and all the extra activities that will be happening.

Cheers,
Lynn & the NAPA Team
