Director’s Note
Thank you for coming to support our beautiful young performers in their production of Finding Nemo Jr! For some, this show will be their very first time performing in front of an audience and I feel so lucky to be able to share that experience with you all. I must thank my co-teachers Greta and Linda for coming along on this crazy rollercoaster with me this year.
I have had such an excellent year working with our Broadway Kids, watching them learn and grow and come out of their shell (no pun intended). On stage tonight we have students as young as 6, with our oldest performers just 10 years old. While our end of year musical is always a large focus of our classes, our main goal for our students of this age group is to see them make progress.
The beauty of progress is that it is different for everyone. Some will show their growth tonight in their dancing, singing, and acting. For others, progress might be more subtle, yet equally as important. It could be the newfound confidence to walk in to the classroom unaccompanied, the development of leadership skills while working with younger students, the responsibility they’ve taken for learning their lines and arriving prepared each week, or the courage they’ve shown in participating in activities far outside their comfort zone. And let’s not forget the bravery it takes to get up on that stage in front of a crowd full of strangers.
As the stage lights go up tonight, I invite you to reflect on the progress your student has made this year, especially in the little things. Those small, everyday wins are the building blocks of growing in to an excellent young human. After the show, let them know just how proud you are of them because we are bursting with pride here too.
So sit back and enjoy the heart warming tale of Finding Nemo Jr, knowing that you’re not just witnessing a musical but the incredible journey of our young stars.

Synopsis
Marlin, an anxious and over-protective clownfish, lives in the Great Barrier Reef with his kid Nemo, who longs to explore the world beyond their anemone home. But when Nemo is captured and taken to Sydney, Marlin faces his fears and sets off on an epic adventure across the ocean. With the help of loveable characters such as optimistic Dory, laid-back sea turtle Crush, and the supportive Tank Gang, Marlin and Nemo both overcome challenges on their journey to find each other and themselves.
