NAPA News - Week 3, Term 4, 2024

Welcome back to another busy week! This week we have High School Musical opening and our RAD Ballet Exams. Chookas to all! Lots of info this week, so please read right through.


High School Musical

There are still a few tickets left for High School Musical. We’d love for our cherubs to have full houses, so get in quick if you haven’t booked yet. You won’t be disappointed! The kids are doing such a fabulous job. If you can help on FOH, Bar or Raffles, please head to our P&F Facebook group to nominate yourself as a helper.


2025 launch

We are so excited to have our first ever Playbill Launch in November this year! This will be a fun night of entertainment where we announce the Musicals and Plays, we will be staging with both our youth program and with our Adult Theatre Company - NAPA Ensemble.

Our 2025 Playbill Launch will be held on November 25th from 7.00pm. Keep a look out on our socials for more info!


DANCE CONCERT

Preparations have well and truly begun for our end of year concert - Beyond the Pages.

If your child attends a dance class but is not intending on taking part, please let Kimberley know ASAP, as costumes have been ordered and fees will be added to your portal soon.

Important dates:

  • Saturday 23rd November — 1.30-5.00pm: full run through at NAPA with all classes (costumes handed out)

  • Tuesday 26th November — 4.00-8.00pm: dress rehearsal for - Level 1/2/3 Acro, Jr&Inter Hip Hop, Jr&Inter Tech, Jr&Inter Tap, 6’s and 8’s Team, 10’s Team, All Ballet students

  • Wednesday 27th November — 4.00-8.00pm: Senior Tap, Senior Hip Hop, Pre-Senior/Senior Tech, All 12’s Teams (Incl acro), All Opens Teams (incl MT, Tap)

  • Thursday 28th November — 4.00-8.30pm: FULL CAST AT HOTA - dress rehearsal

  • Friday 29th November — PERFORMANCE AT HOTA - times TBC


MINI CONCERT

Before our end of year concert, we have our special Mini Concert! This concert is for our Mini Ballet, Mini Tech, Mini Tap, Mini Broadway, Mini Acro, 6’s Team and Mummy and Me classes. Teachers will be emailing out this week with more details, so please keep your eyes out for this.

Mini Costume Photo Sessions

We are also excited to offer our Minis a special costume photoshoot opportunity with Trina Power Creative. Details on how to book these sessions will be sent out via email also. Massive thank you to Trina for continuing to support NAPA through her work on not only photography but as our marketing extraordinaire. All our fabulous posters, website and advertising are done by Trina … what a talented lady! We are so grateful for you.


2025 scholarship program

In 2025, we are excited to offer scholarships for Excellence and Diversity (BIPOC). NAPA is committed to nurturing students' talents and believes that opportunities should be as limitless as ambitions. We will be providing FOUR scholarships designed to empower the next generation of performing artists.

2025 College Applications closing - get in quick!

Applications for our Cert I, II, III and IV programs will be closing on November 1st. If you are thinking of applying for any of our programs, please ensure you get your applications in ASAP as we will be capping numbers to ensure classes are kept small. This ensures all of our students get the attention they need to grow and flourish.


INDUSTRY Q&A — Business of Screen Acting for Teens
HOSTED BY Lily Boisvert

4-5pm, Monday 28 October @ NAPA Studios

Learn about the business of screen acting for kids and teens! In this presentation and Q&A, find out about the “new normal” of self taping and auditions, as well as choosing the right agent for you, headshots, profiles, networking, and what you need as a parent of a child who wants to be a screen actor!

This session and Q&A is open to all NAPA Students and Parents who want to learn the basics of setting yourself up for screen acting.

Hosted by Lily Boisvert (NAPA Senior and Advanced Screen Acting Teacher) with a Bachelor of Film and Television, 10 years of experience as a child/teen actor auditioning in the Australian and International Market and recent on-set and production office experience on Black Snow S2 (Stan), Good Cop/Bad Cop (Stan) and Darby and Joan (ABC).

$40 Per person 16 years or older
OR
$40 for Parent + Child Under 16 (It is just as important that your child attends).
