NAPA News - Week 6, Term 3, 2024

Welcome back NAPA Family. Week 2 at Gold Coast Eisteddfod Dance Groups has concluded, and our final dance comp for the year is officially done. Our Senior Performance Teams had great success in some very competitive sections. The feedback from the judge was excellent and confirmed that our students are getting the best training and have amazing teachers helping them to fulfil their dreams.

A special thank you to Miss Mandy and Miss Suzanne for being there to support the kids with me this weekend. Our students are so lucky to have such amazing mentors looking after them each week.

Good luck to our drama and vocal soloists who are still to compete!

It is also a bitter-sweet moment for our Year 12s who competed in their final eisteddfod, some of whom have been in the competition teams with NAPA for 10 years. Their growth and evolution as performers throughout their time in the competition teams has been incredible, and we are so grateful for the many choreographers and teachers who have contributed to their growth and technical training over the years, setting them up with the perfect foundations for all that is yet to come in their careers.

Picnic at hanging rock

Our senior Tread the Boards class performance of Picnic at Hanging Rock opens this week!

Miss Cilla was hard at work over the weekend with our lighting guru Thomas, and our new set team. Mr Michael Monsma has re-joined the NAPA family this year (though he’s never really left) as our resident set builder, and Andrew Kassab will also be part of our “NAPA crew” for upcoming shows. Please make them feel welcome!

We can’t wait to see what they got up to, creating this eerie set for Picnic at Hanging Rock.

DROP OFF - FINAL REQUEST

Unfortunately, we are still having young students dropped off up to an hour before classes commence on weekdays. This is a final request to parents to please ensure that students are not left unsupervised at NAPA until 15 minutes before class begins.

Wizard of oz Tickets on sale

Wizard of Oz tickets are now on sale to the public after our family pre-sale this weekend. As always, our junior shows sell out quick, so get in fast if you wish to see this magical show.

MISS MANDY SHAVing FOR A CURE

Hi NAPA fam!

I'm excited to let you know that on Saturday August 24th I am going to be shaving my head for The World's Greatest Shave to raise funds for The Leukaemia Foundation.

Did you know that 53 Australians are diagnosed with Leukaemia EVERY DAY!!?? There is no way to screen for blood cancer or protect yourself against it.

I have set a goal of raising $10K to support The Leukaemia Foundation. If you are in the position to donate you can head to my donation page here....

https://www.worldsgreatestshave.com/fundraisers/mandymorrison/2024

Of course I couldn't think of a better place to host 'the shave' than our very own NAPA! If you are free on the day I would love to see as many of you there as possible

SATURDAY 24th AUGUST from 4PM

- food truck
- bar open (thanks P&F!)
- hair colouring fundraiser for the kids and big kids (with coloured hair spray)
- PLUS bid in the auction for your chance to shave off the first bit of my hair!

Hope to see you there & thank you for the support!

BIG LOVE!

Miss Mandy x

Have a FABULOUS week ALL!
