NAPA News - Week 4, Term 1, 2023

Dear NAPA Families,

It is great to see students and teachers settling in so well into all that we are offering in 2023. New teachers give students different methods, strategies or approaches to expand their training, so it’s great we have been able to add to our already existing awesome staff. Our new parents are working hard to get their heads around all that we offer and how we operate – well done! As we are a Performing Arts school there is a lot to take in due to the fact we cover Dance, Acting and Singing, not just one area. But hang in there, it will eventually fall into place, and you will find everything a lot easier.  Just ensure you read the newsletter each week, so you are on top of all that we do.

Goodbye Happy Campers!

Our College students and our incredibly fit Miss Alana are off to camp today for three days at the Currumbin Valley Outdoor & Environmental Education Centre. They will be trekking through the countryside and camping out in tents. This adventure is designed to help with the mental and physical challenges of this industry and equip them with coping strategies in readiness for many facets of life’s challenges. Have fun cherubs!

Reminders

Please ensure they are in the box in reception by 23 February.

Farewell and a Big Thank You to Mr Zane

It is with great sadness that we are farewelling Zane Powell, who is our fabulous Boys Crew teacher. Zane is a performer and is moving to Sydney to further his career and be with his gorgeous girlfriend and our past student, Courtney Monsma. We will miss him soooooo much but wish Zane and Courtney great success and happiness! Currently, he is irreplaceable, so unfortunately, we are going to have to cancel Boys Crew with the last class being on Tuesday, 28th February. Other options for the boys in that class are as follows:

Junior Hip Hop for ages 6-8
Intermediate Hip Hop for ages 9-11
Senior Hip Hop for ages 12+
Level 1 acro for any interested in continuing this.

Please check the TIMETABLE so you can see if any of these classes work for you.

Changes of dates for Performance Team students

We have heard from BPAC that they have changed their competition dates. Please note these new dates:

15s and Opens Teams: 10 + 11 June
6s, 8s, 10s, 12s Teams: 17 + 18 June

Due to this change, we now have to change the date of our Performance Team Concert.

The only dates available are the following:

7pm, Friday, 2 June
2pm, Sunday, 4 June

Some of our students are in a show on the Saturday, hence why we can’t do the 3rd.

P&F and the SAUSAGE SIZZLE

To all the volunteers who contacted our P&F to help in some way – a big THANK YOU! It was great to see the canteen operating on Saturday with the smell of barbecued sausages wafting around. Once again, if you would like to help out in any way such as the barbecue, bar operations, raffles, and social events, please contact the Secretary of the P&F, Danielle Sutherland, by email.

Another Business Callout

We are currently having some tech issues and are looking at changing our email provider. If anyone is a Computer Technician and can help us out, we would love to hear from you. Please contact Laurie – [email protected]

Have a fun filled and productive week everyone.

Best wishes,

Lynn & Team
