NAPA News - Week 4, Term 4, 2022

DEAR NAPA FAMILIES,

Hope you have all had a great week. At NAPA, as usual, it is packed with fun events and happy faces.

Fame!

What a great way to finish the week off with the fun production of Fame! Congratulations cast, crew and teachers Veronica Wnuk, Jacy Moore, and David Willis on a wonderful performance. Thank you to everyone who has helped with this production in some way. It was great to see so many helpers bump-out on Saturday night so we could bump-in Rudolph. Enjoy a rest week this week cast and teachers and we will see you back the following week ready for some more fun learning opportunities.

Rudolph

Our next production is Rudolph which opens on 4 November with our adorable Broadway Kids. As we go into production week, there are extra rehearsals and final preparations to do. With this age group, lots of procedures need to be put in place and lots of parent support needed. A big thank you goes out to all the parents who have volunteered to help. Please ensure you read thoroughly all the communication sent to you, and that you follow instructions effectively, so the children feel secure and confident.

Dance Concert – Inside Out – Ticket Sales

I am excited to announce that tickets will go on sale for our Dance Concert, Inside Out from Monday, 7 November. You can purchase these from HOTA box office (not our website) for $45 adults & $28 students/concessions. Don’t miss out on grabbing these much sought-after tickets.

Halloween Dress-up

Starting on Tuesday, for those wanting to get in the fun mode of dressing up in Halloween costumes or having elements of this tradition such as hair, or make-up or wearing scary accessories, this is the week to do it. It will give us lots of photo opportunities to post a few in our next newsletter.

JAGGED LITTLE PILL WORKSHOP

Our College students were lucky enough to have a workshop with Liam Head, who played the lead role of 'Nick Healy' in the Australian touring production of Jagged Little Pill. The students workshopped songs and scenes from the show and were given some awesome feedback and insight into the professional world.

NAPA PERFORMANCE TEAM AUDITIONS

Registration is now open for our 2023 Team auditions. If your child excels at dance and would like to audition for our competitive teams, follow this link to register: http://napa.com.au/performance-team

Please note that the age of the students is taken as of January 1st 2023. For example; if your child turns 11 on January 2nd 2023 they will still be in the 10's Team.

Laurie and Lynn’s absence next week

Laurie and I will be away from Monday, 24 October and will be back 5 November, as we will be going to Hawaii for my daughter’s birthday- our first holiday in a few years!  Not the best week to be away but fortunately it falls between shows. If you need anything dealt with that you would normally email either of us, please contact Kim [email protected] for any urgent matters you would normally contact me and Kimberley [email protected] for any enquiries you would email Laurie about. Please be aware that both of these lovely ladies will be under the pump with us away, so please support them in any way you can.

Get well Kristie!

Poor Kristie, our lovely canteen lady, is sick in hospital at the moment. We wish her a speedy recovery.  What an incredible NAPA family we have, as a few people have manned the canteen in Kristie’s absence to ensure our kids still have access to some much-needed food and drinks.  Thank you to all those amazing ladies who have helped out.

Have a great week everyone!

Aloha!

Lynn
