NAPA News - Week 3, Term 4, 2022
WELCOME BACK NAPA FAMILIES,
Term 4 is off to a great start! Last week saw the Senior Tread the Boards students give an excellent performance of 30 reasons Not to Be in a Play and this week we saw the opening of the wonderful production, Fame performed by our fabulous Broadway Bound class. We wish them all the best for the rest of the season. The audiences who have caught the performances this week are loving it! Lots to see and do here at NAPA!
RECORDING OF PERFORMANCES
As I have mentioned before, all production classes are charged a Media Fee which gives you a recording of the performance and access to professional photos of the shows. I would like to make a special mention to our new videographers, Fat Tuesday Films. They started with us filming Xanadu and the turnaround has been excellent for every show they have done, with everyone getting their links to the recordings within two weeks, and the quality is excellent considering the limited space they have to set up cameras. Our photos, as always, are amazing thanks to David and Beau Reynolds. We send photos and films out to the whole class as soon as we get them, so please ensure you pay your media fee if you haven’t yet done so but have already received these.
NAPA COLLEGE 2023
This week sees the auditions for NAPA College 2023. We wish the applicants all the best for their auditions. It is a timely event as our current year 12s have all successfully completed their Cert IV in Musical Theatre with us and are looking forward to their Graduation Dinner. We look forward to seeing the next part of their performance journey.
DANCE CLASSES
This term all dance classes focus on concert preparation, so attendance is more important than ever. If anyone is not available for the concert, please let us know ASAP so teachers can plan routines and costumes can be ordered. We will be announcing ticket sale dates in the next couple of weeks, so keep an eye on the newsletter.
See below a copy of the updated timetable with the concert classes highlighted for easier access for Term 4.
RAFFLE DONATIONS
Our P&F welcome any donations that we could use for raffle prizes. All proceeds go to the P&F fundraising account that is used for extra resources and equipment that directly benefits our students. We will recognise anyone or company donating these prizes in our newsletter.
HALLOWEEN DRESS UP
Performing Arts kids always love a good dress up and Halloween is a great opportunity to do this. So, from Tuesday 25th – Monday 31st all of our students are welcome to dress up in a full Halloween costume or just accessories or hair and make-up. Any interpretation of representing a Halloween theme will be lots of fun and will be great photo opportunities.
PROGRESS
This photo came up on Kim’s memories on her phone this morning. It has reminded us how much we have achieved since this day 6 years ago. Leasing this building was a giant leap of faith for us and we are so glad we took it when we see how many young people have blossomed in so many ways in being part of our NAPA family and the training we provide. Thank you for all of your support and to our teachers who give their all in making a difference in the lives of our cherubs.
Have an incredible week everyone,
Lynn & Team
