NAPA News - Week 3, Term 1, 2024

Dear NAPA Families,

We hope your child has had another great week at NAPA and that our new students are starting to settle in well. Parents, for all your support and sacrifices you make for your child to attend NAPA classes, rest assured you will be well rewarded when you see the development your child will make over the year. In the past, many parents have been so overwhelmed at the improvements made by their child, as seen in their performance on stage, it has brought tears to their eyes. We all love seeing those happy tears and the joy it brings families at the end of a show. Exciting times ahead. This newsletter is filled with achievements and opportunities you may want to also embrace.

Welcome Home Lucy!

Talking about being proud parents and teachers, we were excited to have a visit from our wonderful student Lucy Bowyer, who is currently playing Tina Turner as a child in the Tina Turner Musical. Lucy, who has been with us since she was a Broadway Kid, has just finished the season in Sydney and is now heading to perform in Perth followed by Adelaide. We are hoping she doesn’t grow too tall in this time so she can play the role in Brisbane, then we can go as a group to see her shine on stage. Our students and teachers were overjoyed to see her on Saturday, when she helped out in the Broadway Kids and participated in Broadway Tweens. Chookas Lucy for your upcoming shows.

Cast Announcement of Rock of Ages

Congratulations to our Broadway Bound Extension group after their excellent auditions.  It makes it hard to decide on the casting when there are so many great performances to choose from.  Whatever their role, this is a great learning experience for everyone and so much fun.  Have a blast fabulous performers!

Uniform Purchases

Don’t let your romantic Valentine’s dinner be ruined by you realising in the middle of it that you missed the uniform order cut off date LOL. Please ensure all uniform orders are in by Valentine’s dinner time as it will be cut off at 6pm on the 14th February so we can get the orders posted by the end of the week and you won’t be ordering them in the middle of your romantic dinner he he. Also please note we have a Mini uniform this year, please check this out.

Lost Property

Just a reminder that our lost property is placed on a stand in reception.  Please check this on a regular basis as we have already got quite a few items, including dance shoes.

Mummy & Me Classes

We have now added another Mummy & Me class. Our classes are now on Tuesdays (taken by Suzanna) & Wednesdays (taken by Alana) from 9.30-10.00 am.  Please ensure you register for this class, as this year, payment will be done like other classes, not by last year’s card system. Once registered, you are in the system to receive information.

Enjoy your 3 Day Camp College Students + Miss Mandy!

This week our students are going to the Currumbin Valley campus of the Tallebudgera Outdoor & Environmental Education Centre.  This is a great experience for our students in their preparation for a career in the industry. The program is designed to challenge students physically, emotionally and socially within an outdoor learning context. During this time students create a vision for the future as they step into the next stage of their life. It helps to boost confidence and empower students to persist in the integration and embodiment of their transformation and to persist in the fulfilment of their visions. College students will not be doing any classes on Wednesday night when they come home as this will be a Triple R time – Rest, Recoup and Reflect. Have fun guys!!

Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead,

Best wishes,
Lynn & the NAPA Team
