NAPA News - Week 10, Term 4, 2023

Dear NAPA Families,

What a spectacular finish to our year of performances, with the magnificent performance of our Dance Concert, On Broadway! This upcoming week is all about celebrating and recognising our students’ for their great work over the year through our Awards evenings. All classes are now finished for the year.

Dance Concert Success

A huge congratulations to all our dance students and their teachers for such a fantastic dance concert. It was such a treat to see songs from Broadway musicals performed in such an entertaining and professional way. Despite some technical issues from HOTA, this did not phase our students one bit and they continued to wow the audience. Kim and I can’t thank our dance teachers enough for all the hard work and dedication put into their classes and the concert. On top of the preparation for the concert, they worked hard backstage supervising the students, helping with quick changes, organising the props and costumes, ensuring they were all ready to be on stage and supervising the drop off and pick up. An exhausting task but they nailed it and we greatly appreciate their passion and devotion to our NAPA students. Thank you, wonderful teachers and congratulations cherubs!

Awards Ceremonies

We are excited to celebrate our students’ achievements this week. Below is a copy of the organisation for this week that was in the newsletter last week (so you don’t have to look back). Just a reminder for the students to wear something Christmassy for the rehearsal/party and something sparkly or shiny for the awards ceremonies. We will also display all the lost property in the courtyard at the rehearsal. Anything left over after this will be rehomed.

FTV Screening + Awards

  • This is held on Wednesday, 6 December for our FTV students when they will see their work on screen. Tickets for adults can be bought from our website. Students and children are free of charge.

  • There will be some yummy treats provided for everyone who attends.

  • The Screening and Awards will be held at 5pm for our Junior Acting for Stage & Screen and 7pm for Pre-Senior & Senior FTV.

  • Please note that only FTV awards will be presented. If your child does other classes as well as FTV they will need to attend the other Awards ceremony appropriate to their age to receive their awards.

Awards Ceremonies for All Other Classes

4 December – Rehearsal

4-5pm – Junior Rehearsal

  • -       This is for all students in Primary School or who although attend high school  are in Tweens or a Pre-Senior class and have emailed me that they want to attend the Junior Awards.

  • Broadway Tweens will be performing at this ceremony.

  • It’s important that students attend the rehearsal as we will be removing certificates and trophies of those not at the rehearsal (unless you have emailed me to inform us that they will be at the ceremony).  This will hopefully, eliminate us calling out multiple students at the ceremony who are not there.

5-6pm Christmas-get-together

  • This is a time to dress up in something Christmassy – Christmas T-shirts, Christmas colours, Christmas hats etc.

  • This is a combined Junior & Senior get-together

  • Thanks to the P&F we will be supplying Pizzas and ice-cream for our students.

  • We would love 4 helpers to serve the food.  Please let me know if you can help.

  • Music will be playing to dance and sing to in the courtyard and we will set up a Christmas selfie booth for groups to take Christmas photos of themselves with friends.

  • 6pm – Junior pick up time

6-7pm – Senior rehearsal

  • This is for all high school students

  • Students not in attendance for the rehearsal will have their certificates and trophies removed as we will assume they are not attending the Awards Ceremony, unless I have been informed.

  • Broadway Bound Extension will be performing at this ceremony

8 December @ 7pm– Junior Awards Ceremony

9 December @ 7pm– Senior Awards Ceremony

  • Students will be seated at 6.30pm

  • Doors open 6.45pm for guests

  • Dress to sparkle and shine
