NAPA News - Week 7, Term 3, 2021
Dear NAPA Families,
The week has been filled with rehearsals for productions and the eisteddfod. Changes of dates for all of these has been difficult to navigate but the support we have had from everyone has been incredible; getting children to extra rehearsals, changing other plans to attend the new dates, changing tickets, re-blocking of dances and productions due to some of our students over the border ... the list goes on! It has certainly proven how flexible and resilient our NAPA families and staff are! Thank you everyone for doing your part! The first couple of days of the Eisteddfod has already been a great success, the kids smashed it! Check out the outstanding results – great job everyone who performed this weekend we are so proud of you.
Current Eisteddfod Results
Here are the results from this weekend’s competition. The judges gave amazing feedback and several times referred to them as “born entertainers”. Great to hear after all their hard work. Congratulations to our students who entered and their teachers for their fantastic training and routines.

Goodbye Miss Steff & Miss Nadine
At the end of last week, we farewelled two of our fabulous teachers. Miss Steff’s last class before going on maternity leave was our Broadway Kids & Tweens on Saturday so we captured her last day with us as she goes off to have her baby due in less than two weeks. All the best Miss Steff, we can’t wait to see you and the baby when you come to visit us.
We also said goodbye to NAPA Graduate Nadine Chia who has been teaching for us while she waited until she was able to fly to NY to study at the prestigious Pace University in New York City where Nadine successfully auditioned in 2020. Due to COVID restrictions she had to postpone starting the course until this year. Nadine will study musical theatre over four years to gain a BFA in Musical Theatre. This is an incredible opportunity for Nadine and we wish her every success. Here she is about to board her plane.
NAPA Games
At NAPA we have always held annual social events but since COVID these have not been able to go ahead. Socialising with each other builds great relationships in our NAPA Family. We may not be able to fit in social events in COVID times and in between our very full Playbill, but we can provide our kids the opportunity to enjoy playing games together. Our games in the games room are constantly being used and now we have the gate, we have also provided outdoor games equipment. Sadly, from misuse, many have been damaged. We have purchased a whole lot more which the children were thrilled about, and we will continue to do so as long as the children take care of them and put them away after use. We would appreciate it if you could pass this message onto the children so everyone ‘hears’ it. For parents who do stay around, to help us preserve the equipment, perhaps you could help by supervising the children as teachers are busy in class. The best part of the games is that by having children playing outside they are not crowding inside which helps with distancing. The games are very popular before and in-between classes as it entertains them, helps to have fun with their friends and make new friends, learn new skills, warm-up before class, exercise and have fun. It’s fantastic to see the parents join in as well and seeing many of our older children teaching younger ones how to skip or use a hula hoop.
Lost Property
Usually, we send out a plea to pick up lost property at the end of the term but our box is overflowing. Please check out the photos below and if you recognise any of these items belonging to your child, please pick them up this week.
College Auditions
Applications are due in by 31 August. Auditions will be held on Friday, 3 September at 4pm. Applicants please ensure you have confirmed with Miss Lynn that you are attending the audition.
Ticket Sales
We are frequently asked about ticket sales being available for Term 4 shows. In these current times we are reluctant to open up sales until very close to the show, just in case rules changes such as going to 50% capacity, or lockdown when the show is supposed to go on, therefore forcing a date change. Sorry everyone, I know it’s frustrating but changing tickets is a mammoth task, so please bear with us.
Best wishes,
Lynn
