NAPA News - Week 5, Term 4, 2021

Dear NAPA Families,

Hope you all had some fun during Halloween week. Some great efforts were put into dressing up here at NAPA, especially from our canteen lady, Kristie, who not only dressed up herself but decorated our canteen area to set the atmosphere. This week saw our production of The Game performed and now we are getting ready for The Lion King. At NAPA there is always something to celebrate or look forward to.

Congratulations Stuart and the cast of The Game

Our Intermediate Tread the Boards class did a great job of entertaining audiences with their portrayal of their comedic characters. Many of the children played multiple roles and the contrast between each one was cleverly portrayed. They were challenged on Saturday night when a storm hit the coast and the rain and thunder was so loud it drowned out their voices, even thought they were well projected.  We had to stop the show for 10 minutes to allow the storm to pass. These wonderful young performers picked up from where they left off without being fazed which brought a round of applause from our appreciative audience. Congratulations Stuart and our Intermediate Tread the Boards class.

Raffles Update

Please note we did not conduct any raffles for this performance as it didn’t have an interval. We will note the donors of prizes in the week we raffle them.

HALLOWEEN WINNERS

Congratulations everyone who put the effort into our dress up week.  It was hard to pick the winners but after much deliberation we decided on: James and Aneka Mitchell as our duo winners, Grace Cybulski, Lilly Smith, Kaiya Hunter for her creative hair style and Kristie for all her efforts in making it a fun experience for our cherubs. Winners, we have a prize for you at reception you can pick up from Tuesday onwards. Enjoy the pictures that we managed to snap when we could.

Film & TV Screening Tickets

Our Film & TV students have their Screening of their work on 27 November - Juniors’ (Ryan’s classes) screening is at 5.30pm and Senior’s (Hollie’s classes) at 7.00pm. Tickets for both these sessions were put online for you to book. Our apologies but it only came to our notice this week that the Senior session was not displaying, even though from our end it was showing it had gone ‘live.’ We have now rectified the issue, so you can now purchase tickets for the Senior Screening.  If you went and purchased a Junior ticket thinking it covered both seeing it was only one showing, please contact Laurie [email protected] and he will move your tickets to the Senior session. Please note that all students and children are free of charge.

Lion King is now bumping in

With a very small time frame to get our set built, Laurie is working around the clock to build our mountains and caves by Friday’s rehearsal when our cast will work with the set and go through safety procedures. Trina may need some help with some of the art work on the rocks, so if you are talented in this way, please let us know so we can contact you if needed. Get excited everyone as our cast are doing a fabulous job and can’t wait to entertain you.

Have a fabulous week everyone,

Lynn
