NAPA News - Week 2, Term 4, 2021
Welcome back wonderful NAPA Families,
We hope you all have had a great break and ready to engage in lots of what is happening at NAPA in the last term! With so much going on, we do ask that you are vigilant in staying informed through our newsletter, emails and our Facebook pages to ensure your child is at all scheduled rehearsals and are well prepared to meet all requirements. Schedules are tight, but that is because our performances have been moved due to COVID lockdowns during the year. Back-to-back shows is not ideal, but we were determined not to cancel any of them so that our students get the opportunity to shine on stage.
COLLEGE CABARET
Our college students started the term out with a bang! Saturday night saw them treat the audience to a great evening of entertainment. For assessment, our Graduating Students, Hannah Grundy-Stewart and Zeke Whitecross had to perform a cabaret that included an array of songs intermingled with patter that connected to a theme. Our Yr 11 and Yr 10 students performed one song each as the supporting act. Congratulations to all of our College students for a fabulous performance. It was wonderful to see so many of our last year’s graduating students, who performed a Cabaret last year, come to watch and support this year’s cohort. Zeke and Hannah will be celebrating their graduation at a special Graduation Dinner on the 18 November.
13 THE MUSICAL
This week sees the opening of our Broadway Bound’s production of 13 the Musical. The leads had a holiday rehearsal, and the whole cast worked hard this Sunday to bring the tech and performance together for the final rehearsals this week in readiness for our opening on Friday night. It was lovely to see our Musical Director, Steffi Gowland, who came in from her maternity leave, to ensure all the signing was up to standard. Steffi brought in her beautiful baby Elise, for us all to see and for Miss Lynn to enjoy a cuddle whilst directing. A big thank you goes out to Yoka and David Hill for treating the kids to a Pizza lunch during our long Sunday rehearsal – it was greatly appreciated as the kids had certainly worked up an appetite!

WELCOME TO OUR STAFF
We have the pleasure of welcoming to our admin staff, Kimberley Janssen. Kimberley will be taking on some administration work on a part time basis so you may be getting emails from her or be directed to Kimberley to send certain information. For example, Kimberley is currently coordination the rehearsal dinners and roster for backstage helpers in the Lion King. You will also see her smiling face at reception on Wednesday afternoons. As you can see, this is a HUGE term, so if the staff look a little distracted or not looking as bright and cheerful as usual, please understand how much we are under the pump. You would help us greatly if you read all information sent to you, so we are not bombarded with questions that we have already answered through our communication pathways.
Enjoy watching your talented children on one of the performances or Awards nights scheduled above.
Best wishes,
Lynn
