NAPA News - Holiday Edition, Term 3, 2021

Dear NAPA Families,

This is the last newsletter until next term, so we wish you all a wonderful holiday. Many of our cherubs and teachers will definitely need this rest period after all the shows we have done recently!! For everyone else, rest up in readiness for the shows you are about to perform in!

Happy Holidays from our Vocal Performance Team!

The NAPA Vocal Performance Team was all smiles as they gathered for their final class of the term. The team have been training so well this year and we are so proud of all that they have achieved together. We are looking forward to hearing them again at our Term 4 events.

FINAL WEEKEND PERFORMANCE OF INTO THE WOODS!

Once again, congratulations cast and crew on a fabulous performance of this great musical.  We had fantastic feedback!  We are not only proud of their performances but the great work they did in the bump-out straight after the performance. This is part of their training as it what happens in the industry.  It was a great team effort with some of us staying past midnight, but we had the theatre for the production of Flesh which took place on Sunday!

CONGRATULATIONS FLESH CAST AND DIRECTOR CLAUDINE ANDERSON

This play was performed by our Pre-Senior Tread the Boards cast that required a very creative approach to the demands of the play. It played to a full house where audience were greeted as they entered with al lot of bodies scattered around the stage and theatre. They knew from that point they were in for something a little different than a traditionally structured play. These young thespians did a great job and worked beautifully as a team under the direction of Claudine. These students also did a great job of bumping out on Sunday night after the play, so we could bump-in today the set for our next production, 13 The Musical.

REHEARSAL DINNER ORDERS

For Lion King rehearsals on 9 + 10 November and Neverland rehearsals on the 29 + 30 November, we will have a dinner break at 6pm. Parents can order their child a meal & drink deal through the links provided for each night of the rehearsals that they are involved in, otherwise students can bring their own meal as long as it is a nutritional meal. Once your order has been placed you will be invoiced the amount of $12 for a meal which must be paid for within 7 days of the date of invoice for your order to be activated. Closing date for orders is Monday 11 October (we need this time to process them all). If there is any profit from the meal orders, it will go towards the hiring cost of HOTA to help bring down ticket prices for parents. All other evening rehearsals for shows not listed here, please ensure your child eats before they arrive as they won’t have a dinner break. Those start later than the rehearsals we are catering for.  The Neverland rehearsal at HOTA can’t be catered for, so plenty of packed healthy snacks will be needed and something to eat before they arrive.

NOTE WELL: For all students in Neverland, please note that if students are only in the classes listed below, they won’t need to order a meal as they will go home if they are in the first act at 6pm or arrive after dinner at 6.30pm if they are only in the 2nd Act. If they are in both acts, they will need a meal for dinner break.

Neverland Act 1 students who only attend the following are:

Grade 1-4 Ballet
Junior Tech (Miss Tahnee’s class)
Level 1&2 Acro
Boys Crew

Neverland Act 2 students who only attend the following are:

Junior/Intermediate/Senior Tap Tech classes
All Senior Ballet classes
Intermediate technique (Miss Greta’s class)

MONEY RAISED FROM RAFFLES

The total amount raised from the raffle during Into the Woods was $655. As mentioned before, this will go towards the hire cost of HOTA to reduce ticket prices. Thank you to our sponsors and all of you who supported the raffle by purchasing the tickets. Also thank you to Thomas Bell and David Willis for running the raffle during this show season.

Happy Holidays!

Lynn
