NAPA News - Week 7, Term 1, 2022

DEAR PARENTS,

What a busy week it has been! Camp, auditions, preparing for auditions, dance competition, and classroom fun. Enjoy reading this week’s newsletter! It’s been an action-packed week!

We are thrilled to announce Broadway Tweens have the Performance Rights for the musical Xanadu Jr.

Singing auditions started last week and will continue until the end of the term. Audition material has been uploaded onto the Broadway Tweens Online page - please check your emails for access passwords. The performance dates are 7.30pm, 9 and 10 September 2022 and 3pm, 11 September, so lock these dates on your calendars. 🕺🏼

Happy Campers Return!

Our College students spent three days at Currumbin Valley Camp where they learnt some lifelong skills that are particularly geared for a career in the entertainment industry, as well as having lots of fun canoeing and going on a 17km hike. The feedback from our College kids, camp co-ordinator, Chris Dennis, and our singing teacher, David Willis, who went with them, has been fantastic. Look at these happy faces!

LAST WEEK OF TERM DRESS-UP

As we are performing two 80’s musicals this year, Fame & Xanadu, we thought it appropriate for students to dress up in their interpretation of the 80’s in the last week of Term 1. We are giving you a heads-up now so you can start planning the outfits for the week. It will be wonderful to see parents who wait for their kids at NAPA, and our teachers, to dress up as well, as so many of you have either lived through or were born in the 80s so you should be able to rock these outfits. We look forward to some great photo opportunities!

Entry to watch will be free of charge. We will be organising a HAPPY HOUR for families attending prior to the performance to create a social get together.

Next newsletter will explain how to book your tables. You are welcome to bring platters for your table to share and enjoy the Happy Hour! Registration details for the Talent Quest will also be explained next week.

Senior Talent Quest – 6.30pm

SENIOR TREAD THE BOARDS AUDITIONS

Our senior thespians are currently auditioning for their play, 30 Reasons Not to Be in a Play, which will be performed on the 7.30pm, 7+8 October 2022. Make sure you add this one to your calendars as well, it will be an awesome night out.

BROADWAY KIDS’ AUDITIONS

A few parents have enquired about auditions for this group. We have applied for a musical and once we have been granted the Performance Rights for this musical, we will start to plan the auditions. Keep an eye open for the announcement of the musical and then the audition package will go our online portal shortly afterwards.

ASSISTANCE NEEDED FOR GAME MANAGEMENT FOR OUR KIDS

We love seeing our kids enjoying all the indoor and outdoor games we make available for them so they can socialise and be occupied while waiting for classes. However, it is becoming increasingly more challenging due to the lack of respect for our equipment from many of our students. Some students deliberately break equipment or leave them wherever they finish with them and then get more out. Please help us by asking your child if they use the games, and if they do, would you please ask them to put them away once they have finished. Parents who wait for their children at NAPA can we please appoint you to be ‘on duty‘ and remind children to put them away once finished if you see them about to leave them.

Have a great week everyone,

Lynn
