NAPA News - Week 4, Term 2, 2021

Dear NAPA Families,

Happy Mother’s Day to all of our fabulous mums and grandmas!

We hope you all had a wonderful day doing all the things you love to do and that our cherubs spoilt you in some fantastic way.

Uniforms are ready to be picked up!

If you have ordered uniforms, they are in reception for you to pick up. Please note: We did order a few extras, but they are not for sale until the end of the week to ensure that all the orders have been received and everyone has the correct sizes.  From next Saturday 15th to the following Saturday 22nd, we will then open up uniform sales to anyone who joined the Performance Team after the order had gone through and therefore couldn’t place an order.  Once our Performance Team members have their uniforms, we will open sales to everyone else. Please keep your eye on the newsletter for the date they will go on sale.

Announcement of Cast for Lion King

Congratulations to our Broadway Kids & Tweens who auditioned for the Lion King. Casting a show is always very stressful as quite often we have a few that would suit the role, so putting them through their paces to separate them to the final cut is a challenging task for the casting directors and the auditionees. We were so proud of not only the effort put in by so many, but of the fantastic support they gave each other and the patience they exhibited as we went through the long audition process. Here is our final cast, congratulations cherubs!!

13 Auditions

Chookas Broadway Bound students as you go to the Call Back stage of your auditions for 13 The Musical. It is great to hear everyone got up and auditioned and that you are all so excited about this musical.

Helping your child through the disappointment of not getting a role

This is a tough industry, and part of our training is to prepare children for the disappointment of not getting the role they auditioned for. Much discussion with the children is centred around this when we go through the audition process.  With children recently not getting the roles they wanted, we have had a few parents ask how they can help them deal with this. If you would like to get some ideas regarding supporting them through what they see as rejection, just click on the link.  We hope you find this helpful.

Performance Teams

With eisteddfods fast approaching, please ensure you read all the information that has been sent to you.  Take note of dates, times and what is required at each of these eg hair, costumes, shoes, stockings. Also please ensure your child is rehearsing at home.  Teachers have been amazing at posting their routines for home practice.

Dance for Sick Kids

This is happening during the 15-21st May. Good luck to all of you who have joined this great cause or supporting a dancer who is raising money to make a difference!

Lost property

This is piling up again. Parents please regularly check the box that is in the Games room by the fridge.
