::  SYNOPSIS  ::

In roaring twenties Chicago, chorine Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband, Amos, to take the rap... until he finds out he’s been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another “Merry Murderess,” Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the “American Dream”: fame, fortune, and acquittal.

Chicago first opened on Broadway at the 46th Street Theatre in New York City on June 3, 1975. The production, directed and choreographed by Bob Fosse, ran for 936 performances. On Nov 14, 1996, a revival of the show opened on Broadway at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. It later transferred to Shubert Theatre, and then to the Ambassador Theatre, where, more than two decades later, it continues to run, logging nearly 10,000 performances.

::  FROM THE DIRECTOR  ::

I think most of us have heard of the musical Chicago. I mean, who wouldn’t want to see a show based on the real life murderesses Beulah Annan and Belva Gaertner, through the artistic lens of Vaudevillian revues and set against the backdrop of the roaring 20s.

Then throw in the fact that Bob Fosse drove the exploration and homage of these famous Vaudevillian icons, acts, artists and entertainers and top it off with the gift of music and lyrical brilliance of John Kander and Fred Ebb ... there is no wonder the show has seen the continued success that it has.

For us, being able to provide the opportunity for this particular cast to deep dive into the music, costumes, dance style, characters and the overall aesthetic of the era was the perfect fit.

We are thrilled for you to sit back and watch an honest, exciting, impressive and professional version of this historic show that this cast has pushed and worked to breathe life into in their own unique way.

So let’s dim the lights, fill your glasses and leave your manners at the door, because this show entertains in the most deliciously dark, knowingly naughty and tantalisingly truthful way.
