NAPA News - Week 2, Term 2, 2023
Dear NAPA Families,
We hope you had a great holiday and are excited for another great term of learning, fun and achievements!
New Roof
Unfortunately, the roofers had not finished by the time we returned, so the place was a bit of a mess and some classes experienced lots of noise from the workers on the roof. However, this weekend they will finish off so we are all done by Monday. We can already feel the difference in the temperature of the rooms and there are no leaks when it rains. It will take a bit of time to get everything back and cleaned but we are onto it. Thank you for your patience.
Winter Uniforms
As the temperatures are getting cooler, we have opened up our online shop for anyone who wishes to purchase a NAPA sweatshirt, and NAPA Hoodies for College students only. We have also had requests for more T-shirts, so we will open for more orders of these as well. We will keep these items open for purchase for two weeks so please get your orders in before 6 May. The turnaround for delivery is quite quick. Please note that we have purchased more boys NAPA shorts from children’s to men’s sizes. As we have stocked up on these you can purchase them directly from Reception.
Welcome Jordyn Tomars
It is wonderful to welcome to our staff, FTV teacher, Jordyn Tomars. Jordyn will be teaching our Pre-Senior FTV and our Junior Acting for Stage & Screen. Jordyn has had a wide range of training and industry experience. Check her bio out on our website. Jordyn will be a great asset to our team.
Senior Tread the Boards Play Announcement
We are excited to announce that our senior actors will be performing a murder mystery, Murder on the 518. This is an American play that keep you guessing and analysing, ‘who done it.’ The cast have been sworn to secrecy as to who is the murder, so our audiences can experience the element of surprise.
The students were emailed the script and audition pieces during the holidays, so they are currently in the middle of auditions. We hope to reveal the cast in next week’s newsletter. This play will be performed on the 17 &18 November.
ANZAC Day
In respect for our ANZACs, there will be no College classes tomorrow for ANZAC Day during the daytime as this is when ceremonies usually take place. However, all students will have evening classes as per the timetable on ANZAC Day as we don’t want students missing out on lessons and the remembrance services are usually finished by then.
Private Singing Lessons
This term we have a few available spots for private singing lessons that have opened up. Please email me if you wish to book any of these and I will get the singing teacher of that time slot to contact you.

Broadway Bound Update
Miss Cilla wanted to let you know that it was wonderful to welcome the Broadway Bound Class back to Term 2. Rehearsals are in full swing - focusing this week on Come on Everybody. Miss Cilla wants to remind the cast that scripts are now available on the portal. Here are a few pics capturing their rehearsal last week.
Dance Classes
Welcome back to Term 2! There is a lot going on for our dance classes this term, with three comps and our Performance Team concert all taking place. We will also announce our Dance Concert theme this term and begin auditions for lead roles!
A few reminders for dance classes:
Please ensure that your dancer is in uniform. Performance Team students must wear the Activated Industry uniform, Ballerinas in the designated leotards, tights etc and all other dancers in dance gear (preferably black or NAPA colours). All Performance Team and ballet students should have their hair in a neat bun, and all other dance students’ hair should be in a bun or braids. As winter approaches, please do not send your dancer in baggy jumpers and cardigans. If they need some extra warmth before warming up, we suggest ballet wraps or long sleeve fitted dance tops/leotards. If you are still waiting on uniforms you have ordered, please ensure your dancer is still dressed in appropriate dance clothing - eg plain black crop and shorts etc
All of our uniform requirements can be found here: http://napa.com.au/uniform-policies
Have a fabulous week 2 everyone!
Cheers,
Lynn & the NAPA Team
