tread the boards (grade 3-6: junior, 7-9: intermediate & 10-12: senior)
To meet the demands of the highly competitive entertainment industry, this is an intensive, production-based course that requires a high level of commitment, enthusiasm, a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and self-discipline. This class develops a high level of skill in acting, voice, movement and improvisation. Students will gain a practical understanding of the skills required to pursue a professional career as an actor. Students are given the opportunity to perform in a play to consolidate and enhance the skills they have learnt.
Junior Tread the Boards: Students spend Term 1-3 developing acting and performance skills. The students will exhibit their skills through a showcase featuring each student. Term 4 will focus on Theatre Sports techniques for a theatre sport competition.
Intermediate Tread the Boards: Students spend Term 1-3 developing acting and performance skills. The students will then audition for and perform a play in Term 4. The remainder of Term 4 will then focus on Theatre Sports for a theatre sport competition.
Senior Tread the Boards: Students spend Semester 1 working towards a production. Semester 2, students will be developing directing techniques to be exhibited through a showcase of their works.
There will be extra rehearsals but this is included in the fees.
